A Legacy of Love
Welcome to our farm, where love and passion come together to create something truly special. I’m Olivia, a first-generation cut flower farmer, proud to run our family-owned operation in beautiful, Wendell, NC.
Growing up, I was inspired by my mother and grandmother’s love for gardening and animals. They encouraged me to explore and play in the dirt, fostering a passion that would eventually become my career.
We’re proud to be a part of this community and look forward to sharing the beauty of flowers to everyone near and far.
What is Sunshine Farm & Animal Sanctuary?
Our farm is dedicated to growing unique, high-quality heirloom blooms that bring joy to our community. We’re committed to sustainable practices and sharing our beautiful flowers and arrangements to you. Our blooms are seasonal - every specialty flower is cultivated with care.
But our farm is more than just flowers. We’re also home to a thriving animal sanctuary, where we provide a safe haven for farm animals in need. Lyric, our first rescued lamb, became the inspiration for our logo. Our residents include chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, guinea, pigs, sheep, goats, cats and dogs, all rescued in one way or another.
Can visitors come to the farm?
Yes, we welcome visitors to the farm. If you would like to come by to pick your own flowers and learn about our sanctuary animals, please reach out via our inquiry form. It’s great fun for the whole family!
Can you tell me more about your practices and care for the farm and animals?
We employ sustainable farming techniques, such as crop rotation, organic pest control, beneficial insects, composting and all natural wood chips to minimize our environmental impact and ensure soil health.
Our farm animals receive the highest level of care, including proper nutrition, veterinary attention, and a safe, loving environment to thrive.
Do you offer any workshops or events?
Yes, we will be hosting various workshops and events for the first time this year, focusing on flower arranging workshops, meet and greet with the animal residents and so much more. Stay in the loop on our latest offerings via our socials: Facebook, Instagram.
